The weekend finale of the UnExpected Festival brought a host of events to downtown Ft. Smith.  September 10th dawned as a perfect Saturday.  Around town the audiences grew as viewers experienced  the WOW! of the UnExpected Murals.

Pendergraft Park on the West End completed the excitement with Chalk the Block, bands from morning to night, vendors and food trucks. It was beautiful and inspiring to see people out and about - celebrating, contributing and supporting Community Art.

Please enjoy our 48 Hour recap of the weekend events Downtown Fort Smith.

Fort Smith’s exciting UnExpected weekend continued Sunday as cyclists gathered downtown for the 2nd Annual Hell on the Border State Criterium Championships.  The race included categories for kids as well as adult cyclists. This year’s race was a memorial to John Thellman with a portion of the race proceeds donated in his name to the Friends of Recreational Trails (FORT). http://arstatecrit.com/
